Owner & Trainer: Ali Calcagni
Ali started her riding career as a child in the Metrowest area. She has trained and worked under numerous trainers throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Competing since she was very young throughout New England, Ali has shown in local shows all the way through rated shows and medal finals. She also attended UMASS Amherst's Stockbridge School to pursue a degree in Equine Science. As an instructor, she has taken many students from first time beginners up to competitive riders and has a passion for helping riders of any age and ability achieve their riding goals. In 2011 Ali started a different adventure when she bought and trained her first OTTB Polly from Suffolk Downs. Through Ali's patient training Polly was shown at Fieldstone, Saddle Rowe, local shows, and made an excellent addition to the lesson program. Ali has a unique talent for shaping mindful riders, helping all riders find their passion, and guiding those with their own horses towards a partnership.
Ali has owned and operated Clover Hill Equestrian Center since March of 2015. Hands on work running a growing horse business from the ground up has given her vast knowledge and experience when it comes to managing horse care, customer service, and small business operation.
Ali manages the day to day horse care at Clover Hill, she takes pride in making Clover Hill a place where all horses are cared for as her own. She also teaches lessons to all levels, training for all horses (with a soft spot for OTTBs) & can usually be found snuggling her personal horses Clint and Monty.

Assistant manager/head working student - Bella Sutherland
Bella has been riding and showing throughout New England for many years now. Lucky for us she landed at Clover Hill in her sophomore year and has been here since ! Bella takes amazing care of all our horses, the barn, the rings, landscaping, trailering- you name it she does it here! Bella also spends her non working time riding and showing her own horses with Clover year round. Bella has many accomplishments in the jumper and equitation ring, and these days is training a project pony of her own for the green hunter division this year. We are so thankful to have her on our team!
